Erik David Hidde, known as Prison Escapee is a singer, songwriter, and producer from New York, currently residing in California. He recently released a full length album titled Greetings From The End.
“Greetings from the End is a concept album about ‘the end’,” explains Hidde.
“Some different themes regarding ‘the end’ are covered throughout the 46 minute runtime. Some of them include the end of being social, the end of not facing reality, the end of following the crowd, the end, the end of not asking God for direction in life. They also include the of a relationship and the end of a life,”
Prison Escapee cites many influences regarding his latest release.
“My musical inspirations are God, my wife, my family, my upbringing, my past and my future. Some artists/bands who have influenced my music would include but not be limited to The Velvet Underground, Nick Drake, John Lennon, Jim Morrison, Stevie Nicks, The National, Broken Social Scene, Sun Kil Moon, Casiotone for the Painfully Alone, and Thom Yorke.”
“My goal in music is to keep releasing full length albums for as long as I can maintain the passion and creative drive. I would love if my albums would be regarded as inspirational works of art and uplift people through times of grief as well as times of happiness.”
