Interview with Wilson Speaks

Interview with Wilson Speaks

Here’s our interview with Wilson Speaks. Wilson Speaks is a 21 year old indie artist from Bountiful, Utah.

What’s your favorite part about making music? What are your goals within the music industry?: “My favorite part about making music is getting to be creative and it gives me a place to speak my mind. As a person that isn’t very out spoken and keeps to myself, writing songs really allows me to give my thoughts and express them to the world. My goals would be to just keep making music because it makes me happy and hopefully my music can make other people happy too and I hope others can relate to the messages in my songs.”

Which artists have had an influence on your music? Who’s music would you compare yours to?: “My main influence is probably Sandy Alex G. I’ve also been influenced by a wide range of artists like Florist, The White Stirpes/Jack White, Blink 182, Hovvdy, etc. It’s hard for me to compare my music to others’, but I probably compare mine to Sandy Alex G or Florist. My more recent songs have been more indie with a soft, peaceful acoustic vibe.”

What are you working on right now? What should readers go listen to?: “I’m just working on one song at a time. My most recent song Tom Bombadil just came out last week and it’s on Spotify, iTunes, Apple Music, and more. Just search for Wilson Speaks on the music platform you use and you’ll find me. I also have an Instagram of the name Wilson Speaks Band where I post updates on my work and share things I’ve been working on.”

Apple Music Reviews strives to be a positive source of music content and a community of artists/music listeners who love music as much as we do. Other music review outlets are generally biased towards certain artists, and try to emphasize what is bad about music, instead of liking it for what it is. And of course, they only review the most popular artists. We understand that there is a lot of music out there that you’d love, but just haven’t discovered yet, and we pride ourselves on giving you the opportunity to discover new music.
